Unless you have a heart made of stone, a break up is not something you would want to look forward to. It is a painful occurrence in anyone’s life; others can mend real quickly, while some do not mend at all. If couples fall in love only to fall apart later on, then what’s the point of being together in the first place?
Here are some of the reasons why couples break up:
1. Boredom
This is one of the major causes of a breakup especially if both parties are not that committed to the relationship. As soon as boredom sets in, they immediately decide to go separate ways so they can look for “greener pastures.”
2. Third Party
A cheating spouse will only destroy the relationship, so if you are seeing another person, you should make a decision to stop that affair or to end the relationship you currently have.
3. Lackluster Sex Life
Many partners seek more excitement elsewhere especially if their sex life is quite dull. You should make an effort to improve the sexual aspect of your relationship if you want to stay together, or if you want your partner to remain interested and faithful to you.
4. Arguments and Fights
If you cannot seem to agree on most things and you constantly argue and fight, you will eventually get tired of it and may want to go separate ways. Unless you can find a way to compromise, this relationship will simply not work out.
5. Stress and Anxiety
When you are dealing with personal issues and finding it hard to cope, this will lead to stress and anxiety which will eventually affect your relationship. As a result, you will neglect your partner, leaving them resentful and hurt. If you want to save your relationship, take time out from your “mess” and spend happy moments with your partner.
6. Family Issues
Family and relatives play a crucial role in your relationship which can be very evident if they dislike your partner. If you do not know when and where to draw the line, they might just cause a breakup. If you truly love your partner, your family should be ready to accept that. Not unless there is something really wrong with your partner that your family just cannot accept.
7. Differences
If you have different priorities, different values, and different preferences, well, your relationship could go either way. They say that opposites attract, and perhaps it is your disparity that will keep the love alive. However, you need to respect each other’s differences, and learn to compromise and be supportive; otherwise, these differences could lead to arguments and coldness later on.
